How to Friend a Snobby Neighbor!

My next door neighbor is stuck up and it gets under my skin. As hard as I try to start conversations with her, she always acts too good, too smart and too busy to be bothered by me. When she first moved in, I was excited to welcome her to the neighborhood and become friends. Should I keep trying or just let her be?

Maybe you can look at the situation differently. Maybe your new neighbor is no snob, but simply an introvert. Don't take it personal if she isn't returning your kind gestures or participating in your small talk. If your new neighbor is shy, maybe with time she'll warm up to you. Maybe.

As much as we all agonize about it, sooner or later we come to the realization that not everyone wants to be our friend. No matter how much of a character flaw this is for the disinterested party, it is what it is. Spend your energy on those who reciprocate. There are some great relationships out there just waiting to be discovered.
